Tsogo Sun’s groupwide Roulette Masters tournament was showcased to a select group of local ‘jet-setters’ – celebrities and leading media representatives – with a never-to-be-forgotten experience of a round helicopter trip, gaming and dining at the group’s three Gauteng entertainment destinations, from Gold Reef City to Silverstar Casino to Montecasino and back to Gold Reef City for a grand final, prize giving dinner and overnight stay.
The high flyers’ adrenalin-packed Tsogo Sun adventure included participating in the Roulette Masters tournament at each destination and enjoying a taste of the newly revamped Gold Reef City. The guest list included some of SA’s hottest celebs, including Maps Maponyane, Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Katlego Mohauduba and Armand du Plessis.
Roulette Masters launched on 11 January at Tsogo Sun’s 14 casinos countrywide with total prizes valued at a whopping R 2.5 million and a guaranteed first prize of R 1.5 million. Qualifying rounds are taking place at the respective casinos until 3 March 2016 and the unit finals will happen on 5 March 2016, followed by the group semi-finals and grand finale at Silverstar on 19 March 2016.
“This tournament has become a hot favourite among our players over the three years that it has been running, and enabling some of our local celebrities to experience the nail-biting fun first hand at different destinations highlighted the thrills that Roulette Masters offers every player,” says Steve Hight, Tsogo Sun’s Director of Gaming. A separate mini-tournament within Roulette Masters was part of the day’s entertainment, with celebrities competing against each other at the three destinations for the kudos of the top spot – and Tsogo Sun experiences – at the end of the three rounds.
The celebrities met at Gold Reef City before being whisked off to Silverstar in helicopters where they played in the tournament before jetting off to Montecasino for another round of roulette and then back to Gold Reef City for some fun in the Theme Park. The evening culminated in the finale between four qualifying Roulette Masters finalists plus two additional entrants selected by means of a surprise lucky draw, followed by a prize giving dinner at Back O’ The Moon restaurant.
“It was a breath-taking day of fun and excitement at every turn – for every person who took part in the experience,” says Hight. “It was a pleasure to show off the wonderful offerings at our three properties, particularly the new developments at Gold Reef City, while also giving our guests the chance to spin the wheel in our winning Roulette Masters tournament. We believe that once people experience the delights at our entertainment destinations, they’ll come back again and again for more. It’s our philosophy to make sure every experience is a memorable one at all Tsogo Sun’s properties.”
Tsogo Sun’s portfolio includes over 90 hotels and 14 casino and entertainment destinations throughout South Africa, Africa, the Seychelles and Abu Dhabi.
