Gold Reef City, SA’s most loved local entertainment spot, truly made a difference on this year’s Mandela Day by changing the lives of children, pensioners and animals.
Volunteers took to the streets of Jozi South and upgraded a community crèche, the local SPCA and served lunch to over 100 pensioners at Reuven Old Age home.
As a group, Tsogo Sun made this initiative even more special with 951 employee volunteers spending 2,566 volunteer hours collecting food and toiletries to support 64 very deserving organisations – to the value of R1,400,736.43!
Gold Reef City also partnered with SOJO (South of Jo’burg Business and Tourism) in a #HelpThyNeighbour collection drive. Employees collected non-perishable foods and toiletries for Meals on Wheels, specifically for the Johannesburg South area. The non-perishables and toiletries collected during the drive were delivered to various organisations such as local shelters and feeding schemes. Now that’s what you call spreading the Madiba magic!
